The Kiwanis Club of Hillsdale was at Bailey Elementary School on Thursday evening, December 15, to charter the elementary K-Kids Club. A ceremony was held that made Hillsdale a city that has all the levels of Kiwanis including a K-Kids at the elementary level, Builders Club at the middle school level, Key Club at the high school level, Circle K at the college level, and Kiwanis Club at the adult level. Kiwanis President Karl Herman led the chartering ceremony and presented the K- Kids President Madeline Moore with the charter and banner. All the K- Kids received a pin and certificate. The K- Kids officers are Madeline Moore – President, Jena Carpenter and Drew Pitts – Co-Vice- Presidents, Brylee Boyd-Secretary, and Josh Adams-Treasurer. Advisor Brianna Jagger has worked with the students and they have participated in service projects for the community. This season they have rung bells for Salvation Army. The goals of the organization are to promote leadership opportunities, service, and to learn to work together in a procedure that enables growth for the children of the community. After the ceremony cake and punch were enjoyed by Kiwanis members, parents, K-Kids and friends. It is an accomplishment to have all levels of Kiwanis operating for service to the community.
