Local student chosen as National Youth Delegate, will travel to Washington D.C.

Hillsdale, Michigan -- McKenna Thayer, a student at Hillsdale High School has been selected to represent Michigan as a National Youth Delegate to the 2012 Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University. McKenna joins a select group of only 250 students from all over the country honored with the opportunity for an intensive study of leadership in environmental science and conservation.  Thayer was chosen based on academic accomplishments and a demonstrated interest and excellence in leadership in the sciences and conservation studies. McKenna also participates in Track & Field, Volleyball, Jazz and Symphonic Band, Drum Major of the Marching Band, Student Council and is on the All-A Honor Roll. She plans to study Environmental Science/Sustainability after graduation in 2013.

Tuesday, March 6th  -  JUNIORS ONLY
*No School on March 6th for Freshmen, Sophomores & Seniors!
Wednesday, March 7th JUNIORS ONLY in the a.m. and everyone for 3rd and 4th period
*Half Day on March 7th for Freshmen, Sophomores & Seniors!
Thursday, March 8th – JUNIORS ONLY in the a.m. and everyone for 3rd & 4th period
*Half Day on March 8th for Freshmen, Sophomores & Seniors!

 Pizza will be provided on the first day for the Juniors. On Wednesday & Thursday the cafeteria will be serving lunch to all students, during the regular scheduled lunch time.
