New Hires

Welcome to Hillsdale Community Schools

 

scott Please help us welcome MRS. TARA SCOTT our new EA at Gier Elementary.  Before joining the Gier Team, Tara worked for 18 years at Kroger in various roles: service desk, pharmacy tech, Drug/GM Manager, Bakery Manager.  She is a mom of three children.  Her two eldest are HHS graduates and her youngest will be graduating this year. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, watching my kids play sports, coaching, NCAA basketball, and her pets Tink (tinkerbell) and Jake (J.Cole).  Mrs. Scott is looking forward to meeting the staff and students and becoming a member of the HCS family.

 

 

 

burr Welcome Cheryle Ruth Burr, our new full time bus driver. "Ms. Sherry" is her new bus driver handle. Before joining HCS she worked at Fabricating Orthodontic appliances and as a substitute bus driver.   Ms. Burr is a very upbeat, positive person who enjoys gardening, playing piano, singing, making flower arrangements, and hanging out with family and friends. Ms. Burr has a daughter and son in law, Jessica and Joshua and 2 grandchildren - Ruthie and Abraham!  She also lost a son in an accident in March of 2018, and she misses him very much.  She is super excited to be a Hornet and looks forward to meeting all her kids on the bus and having a great respectful relationship with each one of them. She has a dog, Hercules, that she spoils rotten!!  He loves visiting the Transportation Center!  He even brought doggie treats to share with others that come in to see them.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

hofbauer Our new 6th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher is TAIYLOR HOFBAUER.  Miss Hofbauer graduated from Siena Heights University and was a substitute teacher around Lenawee County. She spends a lot of time with her family, which includes her parents and four rescue dogs that she loves very much. Miss Hofbauer loves reading, watching Marvel movies, and going to summer country concerts!  She is most excited about meeting her first group of sixth graders and their families, and getting to know them throughout the year!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

lopresto Welcome back Jamie LoPresto who will be our DMS Administrative Assistant. She started at HCS in 2007, went to Michigan Works in January 2019, and returned full time on August 1 (even though she helped out with pupil accounting and scheduling during the 6 months she was gone). It did not take her long to realize she was destined to be with HCS. Mrs. LoPresto has been married to Andy for 10 years and has two daughters, Kinzy (7) and KaLeena (1 1/2). Kinzy attends Gier and is in 3rd grade this year. Jamie has worked at DMS, HHS, and Hillsdale Transportation. In addition, she has served as a basketball and volleyball coach at HCS. Jamie is glad to be back in the HSC family.

 

 

 

 

 

Megan Fouty

Welcome MEGAN FOUTY our new 4th grade teacher. Megan is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University.  After graduation she moved to Central Florida and taught 3rd grade for three years. She loves to travel, work out, hunt, fish, eat pizza and spend time with her family. She is most excited about the great team she will have at Gier and meeting new students. Megan can’t wait to become apart of the Gier Family. She is also a cheese head -- Go Pack Go! 
 
 
 
 
 
Broesamle Welcome Jennifer Broesamle. Our new educational assistant at Davis Middle School. Previously she worked in Health Care. She graduated High School in Adrian and studied Nursing at Jackson College. Jennifer enjoys spending time on the lake with her three kids and dog. She is very excited to work with the students, and looks forward to helping them set and achieve their goals. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Slamka
Please help us welcome Miss Holli Slamka. The new choir director for HHS and DMS. She earned her BA from Western Michigan University.  She has two sweet kitties and a wonderful fiancé. She also sings in a Sweet Adeline’s quartet with her mom and two friends. Holli loves singing, theater, and being outdoors! She is so excited to meet her choirs and become part of the Hornet family again. We’re going to make some great music together!
 
 
 
 
 
 

Harmon Michele Harmon will be an educational aide. Before Hillsdale she spent 26 years at The Manor and 6 years at Will Carleton Academy. She is married to a sweet man and has 2 amazing daughters and 2 wonderful grandchildren. Mrs. Harmon has lots of jobs ... she works for fun. She likes to read and refurbish furniture and hang out with family. Mrs. Harmon is most excited about being back in the school she grew up in and working with, what appears to be, the best staff ever. She can't wait to meet the kids!

 

 

 

 

 

gsrp Please welcome Nichole Reynolds our new Lead Teacher in GSRP classroom (all day program) at Bailey. Mrs. Reynolds graduated from Spring Arbor University.  Last year she was the lead teacher in the half day program at Bailey.  She is married and has two awesome sons.  Nichole enjoys gardening, watching her boys play sports, and bike riding.  She also loves shopping for school supplies and getting her classroom ready for new students.
